It's been an exciting couple of weeks for us here at NetSecure. Given the economy jobs are not as secure as they used to be, but working at a small start-up can be especially risky. Our flagship product, SmartSwipe, is gaining some momentum. There have been many delays in the launch of this product, some because of internal issues and some external.   But the forecast right now is looking bright. Here is what's happening:

First, a couple of great blogs (SlipperyBrick and Your World Today) did reviews for us. These blog articles got posted on some other sites as well like Trend Hunter and Iddictive. Second, a small, but solid computer retailer in Edmonton, Alberta called Digiware began selling and marketing SmartSwipe. Then two big things happened for us.

First, PC World wrote us up as one of their "10 Cool New Mobile Gadgets." This led to some major US attention and web traffic (we are Canadian and most of our attention has so far been Canadian). Then a deal we had been working on for a little while came through - Dell.ca began selling SmartSwipe. Dell is a huge milestone for us because of their great reputation, sheer volume of sales and their dedication to innovation.  

These two events led to some local newspaper love in the Leader Post, and Global TV. The photographer who came in for those stories ended up buying a SmartSwipe.

This week NetSecure President and CEO Daniel McCann and Sales Manager Don Power are in Florida for the RetailVision Trade Show. The hope is to get some more retailers interested in selling SmartSwipe. SmartSwipe is being featured as one of the top Fresh new technologies at this year's event.  The results are still not in, but a press release came out with their picks for the top new technologies.
