If the SmartSwipe toolbar does not appear when you start Internet Explorer, please try the following (if you are using Internet Explorer 7):

  1. Click Tools (in the upper right hand corner of your browser), select 'Toolbars' (see Fig 1) and click on 'SmartSwipe'
  2. If the word 'SmartSwipe' is greyed out, consult this article for steps on how to fix that problem.
  3. If 'SmartSwipe' does not appear in the list of toolbars (see Fig 2), consult this article for steps on how to fix that problem.
  4. If clicking on 'SmartSwipe' does not make the toolbar appear, you should check to make sure that you have Windows Automatic Updates turned on.  In some cases, the following three Windows updates have caused toolbars not to appear:
    1. KB960714
    2. KB958215
    3. KB938127
